Loch Arbour, NJ: 194 Village Idiots (Residents) and a $700K Severance Package-Not Including Pension-For their Clerk
The small, bucolic Monmouth County beach village of Loch Arbour, NJ is in the news. Not because of anything that Hurricane Sandy did to the manicured beaches in town. Not because of destruction wrought in the tiny town that most have never heard of. They are in the news because their liberal government has behaved like village idiots.
They are a microcosm of why New Jersey has the highest property taxes in the nation. With 194 idiots living in this village on the shore, they were exasperated at their property tax bills for the 15 kids they send to school. They were looking at merging with the nearby community of Allenhurst.
While looking into that merger, the village full of idiots fretted about Lorraine Carafa, their village clerk. They worried about what would happen to poor Lorraine and her job if the village full of idiots merged with Allenhurst. Their council, also comprised of idiots, settled on a plan.
Their plan was to provide their village clerk with a $694,000.00 payout if they merged with Allenhurst and she lost her job. That is in addition to her pension, which is not included in that staggering figure.
So their property taxes were skyrocketing and they wanted to look into merging with another community. 194 people in Loch Arbour, NJ. Their council full of idiots then decided to “reward” the clerk of the village full of idiots with a staggering payout.
With more than 500 municipalities in New Jersey, and ridiculousness like this going on, is it any wonder why our property taxes are the highest in the nation?
Will this insanity ever stop? Will anyone step up to try and stop it?
