Justices’ Decision on Illegal Immigration Emboldens States
The US Supreme Court decision which upheld the constitutionality of the Arizona law mandating use of E-Verify by employers has now emboldened other states to follow Arizona’s lead as detailed in the article from the New York Times.
Justices’ Arizona Ruling on Illegal Immigration May Embolden States
For too long our state representatives have hidden behind the mantra that says “illegal immigration is a federal issue and there is nothing that individual states can do about it.”
Well, according to the US Supreme Court those days are officially over.
We need laws mandating use of E-Verify by employers in New Jersey now! If we don’t act, illegal immigrants from other states who don’t return to their home countries will end up coming to states which do not have strict laws on their books regarding illegal immigration.
This will only put a further burden on New Jersey’s educational and healthcare systems. According to a study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, the State of New Jersey already spends $2.1 billion yearly for education, healthcare, and incarceration for illegal immigrants. And that study was done in 2007. The number may well be higher today.
An influx of illegal immigrants coming to New Jersey from states with strict laws on their books mandating E-Verify will also cause more US citizens and legal residents in New Jersey to lose their jobs due to unfair competition from illegal immigrants.
It is important for New Jersey voters to understand that the people most hurt by illegal immigration are the American citizens who are unskilled or semi-skilled workers and also the young people. The are the ones who are most likely to lose their jobs to illegal immigrants.
Recent unemployment figures for the 18 to 29 year old age range show an overall unemployment rate of 25% with an unemployment rate of 35% for Latino-Americans and 45% for African Americans in that age range. Those people who argue for being compassionate to illegal immigrants need to realize that our first obligation is to show compassion to our fellow citizens who are displaced from their jobs by illegal immigrants.

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida is not the major activist against illegal immigration, for the TEA PARTY. That’s one of the most serious issues on their agenda for the 2012 election. Any TEA PARTY leader, who is not, will be quickly removed. Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann and Tea Party sweetheart is a major contender in revitalizing the massive, out-of-control problem. Kentucky Republican Rand Paul, a freshman and tea party favorite is ready to fight the illegal immigrant invasion. Whether it’s New York or some other State, economic illegal aliens will soon head your way to Sanctuary Cities or even States like California. Those State legislators not implementing E-Verify or Secure Communities will be crucified in 2012.
Millions of American workers nationwide may soon be beholden to State Senator Pierce and Governor Brewer, as not being intimidated by Liberal extremists. By pushing into a fast track of E-Verify to the Supreme Court. Californians Proposition 187 was toppled and engineered to not reach the high court of the land, that would have certainly saved billions of dollars for taxpayers burdened heavily with entitlements for illegal foreign national households. Another problem we have is Stolen and fraudulent ID, which has been proven to be used to alter the direction of elections. Arizona is clamping down on bogus ID hard, by not accepting foreign ID that has been allowed by some States to provide bank accounts. Same as ITIN IRS numbers that also provides a sense of legitimatized, but has been used in child tax refund fraud.
Illicit Companies and open border interests are just one cause of financial fall of America. Democratic leaders discounted the Tea Party and measured them as nothing more than a small group of discontents. The GOP, on the other hand, understood that it wasn’t and were smart enough to encourage them into their party. People have been wondering for a long time, who Congress works for? The American people or big business lobby? That question is simply answered, when the United States, unlike other nations doesn’t make it a felony to trespass on to our sovereign territory. Decades of complete brain oblivion–intentional or not on the part of both political parties in Congress, has cost us millions of US jobs, lowering of wage, and higher taxes specifically in the lower working classes. We are forced to pay for their children’s education, the whole household’s health care and many well concealed programs by government. Illegal aliens are just that illegal. They are robbing the taxpayer, where they came from Asia, Europe or Central and South America.
In 1986 Immigration reform package that was a mass amnesty, that was an absolute failure and added 6 million more legal immigrants, that has devastated the welfare entitlement program, ever since. It can be amended, but there will never be another deceiving amnesty; not broken as critics say, but a reform law meant to fail.
While Americans are in foreclosure, cars reprocessed and unable to pay their bills, there are an estimated 8 million gainfully employed. Illegal aliens are still pouring across the border or flying from other nations and are not being tracked as in Mexico. The Third Party will stem this illegal economic occupation once and for all. The Tea Party will not vote for any new Amnesties, better labeled as Immigration Reform. The People’s power is omnipotent, but we must stand together against many entities who are only interested in profit and exploitation. We can join NumbersUSA and band together by demanding a–MANDATORY E-VERIFY–nationwide, from our federal, State representatives or call Senate—202-224–3121/ House—202-225–3121.
A story from New Jersey’s most read conservative columnist, Paull Mulshine of the Star-Ledger:
Time for Jersey to catch up with Arizona on immigration
Published: Thursday, May 26, 2011
By Paul Mulshine/The Star Ledger
I just got this release from three conservative Republican legislators on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision approving Arizona’s approach to retraining illegal immigration.
Our liberal friends love to argue that regulating immigration is a federal matter. Not in the constitution (see the decision here). The framers largely relegated that power to the states, as a certain St. Benedict’s grad who likes to comment here has noted.
The real shame here is that the feds have made such a hash of the situation that the states had to step in. I’m not a big fan of employer sanctions, but if the feds aren’t going to enforce the law at the borders, that’s the sole logical means of addressing the problem. When I was a lad I recall those TV announcements every January calling for all aliens to register at the post office. That worked, but the feds stopped doing it.
It’s time for New Jersey to do so.
Hmm, I wonder what our conservative governor has to say on the subject.
In the meantime, here’s the release from the legislators:
State Senator Steve Oroho, Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose, and Assemblyman Gary Chiusano (R-24) praised a United States Supreme Court ruling today sustaining an Arizona law that penalizes businesses for hiring workers who are in the United States illegally. In its ruling, the Court rejected arguments that states have no role in immigration matters.
By a 5-3 vote, the Court said that federal immigration law gives states the power to impose sanctions on employers who hire illegal workers. The law in question was passed by Arizona’s legislature in 2007.
“This is a great day for the rule of law, a great day for those businesses that play by the rules, and a great day for American jobs,” Oroho said, noting that the Court said, “The Arizona law fell ‘well within the confines’ of the powers Congress left to state legislatures.”
In the Senate, Oroho is the prime sponsor of New Jersey’s E-Verify legislation (S-2733), while Chiusano and McHose are prime sponsors of the Assembly version (A-189).
“Illegal immigration costs state taxpayers $2.1 billion every year,” McHose noted. “We must always be strengthening our laws concerning illegal immigration and finding ways to make New Jersey affordable for legal residents.”
Chiusano noted: “We cannot continue to function as a sanctuary state. If we don’t address the problem, we will never succeed in getting government spending under control. The Court’s ruling gives a green light for the New Jersey Legislature to get to work passing what we’ve proposed.”
As proposed by Oroho, McHose, and Chiusano, the E-Verify program in New Jersey would certify that all employees hired by companies are legally authorized to work in this country.
The 24th District delegation strongly opposes legislation that would extend benefits such as in-state tuition rates and drivers’ licenses to illegal immigrants.
